Who we are

LaTri-c-ea McClendon-Hunt, Esq., is a seasoned legal professional with nearly 11 years of experience specializing in alternative dispute resolution, strategic legal consulting, and court monitoring. For the past seven years, I have devoted myself to overseeing compliance with court orders ensuring constitutionally adequate mental health care across more than 30 prisons in California. This critical role has sharpened my skills in strategic planning, negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership.

Throughout my career, I have managed multidisciplinary teams, reviewed thousands of legal filings, led negotiations, and anticipated challenges to provide well-informed legal recommendations. I firmly believe in the philosophy that "Everyday Wins Matter"—steady, thoughtful progress leads to meaningful change.

At 18, I had the unique experience of diving aboard a submarine, which taught me two lifelong lessons: things are not always what they seem, and there is great power in tranquility. These insights guide my approach to legal and strategic challenges, enabling me to dive beneath surface-level impressions and make calm, thoughtful decisions with profound impact.

I am a dedicated advocate for victims of domestic violence and have provided counsel to indigent populations across a wide range of legal matters. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Justice Assistance, a nonprofit organization that empowers justice-involved individuals by providing critical resources for employment, housing, behavioral health, and financial literacy, reflecting my commitment to community service and social justice.

Recognized as one of the “Top 100 Black Lawyers” in Rhode Island in 2025, I was named annually as a Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in Alternative Dispute Resolution from 2022 to 2024 and featured in the Rhode Island Super Lawyers Rising Stars List. I earned my J.D. from Appalachian School of Law, where I served as Productions Editor of the Natural Resources Law Journal and was a member of the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team. I hold a B.A. in International Affairs from Marquette University and am admitted to practice law in Rhode Island, the United States District Court for Rhode Island, and the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia.

Active in numerous professional and civic organizations, I currently serve as First Vice President of the Kappa Phi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., and I have presented at Law Day programs emphasizing civics, civility, and collaboration.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward lasting progress. Our dedicated team is ready to assist with any inquiries and ensure your consulting needs are met with precision.
